It's a sad day around here today...

For the past 15 years we have had a common box turtle named "Lulu" walking our apartments and houses. She basically had free reign over the entire house and for the last 5 years called the space under our TV home.
Well... today she died. We're sad and my daughter is taking it very poorly. I'm dealing with it better since as far as I can tell Lulu was living on borrowed time for the past 15 years. She was found in a field full of people at a local carnival by a good friend of mine. He knew that we liked animals so he brought her to us. Over the past 15 years she has been tortured by our cats, licked by our dog, outlived 3 other tortoises that we had and been kicked around the house like a hockey puck a few times. She even found her way into our air duct system at one point. After about a month I was wondering where she was and my wife heard scratching and I had to lure her out.
Her favorite foods were spaghetti and meat sauce, macaroni and cheese and rice. She ate anything and at one point I swear she tried to eat daughter’s toes when she was younger!
Overall I'd say she had a pretty good life. She didn't have to hibernate and she got to eat things other than plants and bugs.
We'll miss you Lulu!
