Why in God's name don't people lock up their guns!!!

A 2-year-old boy has died after he apparently shot himself in the face with his parents' gun.

Philip A. Blasone died Wednesday at a St. Petersburg hospital, three days after he was shot with a .25-caliber handgun at his parents' Fort Myers Shores home. His 38-year-old father, Phillip James Blasone, told Lee County sheriff's officials that the boy must have gotten the weapon from under his parents' bed.

Blasone, the boy's mother, Kristen Kohl, 26, and the boy's two siblings were also home.

Deputies said the case is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
