Don and Susie VanRyn's doubts grew on Monday, five weeks after they started caring for a young woman they thought was their daughter, Laura.
Recovering at a Grand Rapids, Mich., rehabilitation center after a van crash near Upland, Ind., the woman didn't quite look like Laura as the swelling on her face began to recede. And she said things Laura normally wouldn't.
More than once in recent days, when they said, "Laura," the young woman replied, "Whitney," a center spokesman, Bruce Rossman, said.
Staffers then gave her something to write on and asked for her name during a therapy session. She scribbled: "Whitney Cerak."
Using dental records to confirm their suspicions, hospital officials Wednesday morning broke the news to Cerak's mother, Colleen, and the VanRyns in a conference room at Spectrum Health:
Cerak, 19, of Gaylord, Mich., had survived the April 26 van accident that killed four Taylor University students and a college employee.

where the hell is Laura then?
The title of this post is "Parents bury the wrong girl". ; ) Unfortunately she is dead.
The real story is that the one family was caring for what they thought was there daughter while their daughter was already dead and being buried by that girls parents!
They got to watch someone elses kid for two weeks thinking that their daughter might be ok just to find out the horrible truth...
That was one fucked up post.
