Most news sources I have seen have tried to play it off like it just fell.

Ummm...those dudes were groping his arms too much for me to believe that it just fell off.

His watch WAS NOT stolen....he took it off himself before greeting the crowd. NBC news has footage from another angle clearly showing him taking the watch off, it was on NBC news and the clip is on Youtube.
