A New Hampshire man has been banned from posing as a live scarecrow in his front yard after some motorists became so frightened that they swerved off the road, nearly crashing.
"Some people go by and they will go, 'Oh my God (in fear)'," scarecrow David Williams said. "Some people will drive around, turn back around and go get their kids."
Williams said he placed a fake, life-sized scarecrow in front of his home on Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack for five days. He then removed the dummy and dressed up in the costume.
As motorists passed by, Williams would scare passing motorists.
"You see them going by and they are all pointing and saying, 'Look at the scarecrow,'" Williams said. "And then finally, I said, 'It is time' and I jumped up there this Sunday. Just to see the people and watch them -- it is a riot."
Several motorists called police after being frightened by the scarecrow.
"We have had some complaints of him waving a fake sword out toward the roadway, causing people to go into other lanes and that is very dangerous," a New Hampshire police officer said. "We prefer that he stay in his yard and that is for safety reasons. If you know that area, it is a very short sidewalk into the roadway and we don't want anyone getting hurt."
Williams said he may bring the costume back out on Halloween.
"I'm going to have to think about exactly how much I'm going to pull back," Williams said.

LMAO...thats great!
