A conman has sought to capitalise on the grief and confusion surrounding the death of Hollywood actor Heath Ledger by posing as the star's father and reportedly talking John Travolta into buying him a plane ticket to the United States.
The suspect, whose identity is not known, also spoke to Tom Cruise and rang the funeral home where a ceremony for Ledger is taking place, persuading them to book him into a luxury hotel.
The man spoke on the phone with the doctor who performed the autopsy on Ledger's body.
The actor, who is best known for his acclaimed performance in Brokeback Mountain, was found dead in his New York flat last Tuesday.
Meanwhile his real father Kim Ledger visited his son’s apartment in SoHo, Manhattan, yesterday morning under the escort of security guards.
