American heavy metal band, Slipknot has lost their bassist, Paul Gray. The bassman was found dead in an Iowa hotel room on Monday (May 24). Police were on the scene and an autopsy is being carried out today (May 25).Gray leaves behind his wife, Brenna who is pregnant with their first child. He died aged 38.

This Morning Ronnie James Dio, one of the best voice of old school heavy metal lost the battle to cancer, damn that sucks and i'm pretty sure this is the begining of a wave, all those guys from the 80's metal bands are getting up there, and health issues will arise.

Type O Negative front man, bassist, Peter Steele passed away last night of what appears to be heart failure.Ironically Peter had been enjoying a long period of sobriety and improved health and was imminently due to begin writing and recording new music for our follow up to "Dead Again" released in 2007. R.I.P. Dude gave us great music with Carnivore and Type O Negative

March 19, 1982: Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist and close friend Randy Rhoads died in a small aircraft crash in Leesburg, Florida, during a stop between concert dates. The band's hairdresser and the pilot also perished when the wing of the plane they were in clipped Osbourne's tour bus (the pilot was intentiona...lly "buzzing" the bus), lost control and slammed into the garage of a nearby house.
